Re: remington 870 firing issues after re-assembly
Did you put a Sidesaddle on it?

Re: remington 870 firing issues after re-assembly
I think the issue was the Blackhawk forend. The two rails that hold the slide would not go far enough through the forend. The threads were barely sticking through and the nut wouldn't seat properly. I gave up on the tactical forend and put the factory 870 one back on and now operates as it should and fires/ejects/loads fine. It stinks though because the look of the tactical forend made the gun look much better.

Re: remington 870 firing issues after re-assembly
That's why I asked about the Sidesaddle, it's one of the common reasons that a slide wouldn't go back far enough to work the action, some forends extend back and contact the Sidesaddle before the full range of motion can happen.
Installing the forend wrong would also do that.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

Re: remington 870 firing issues after re-assembly
Yes, it makes sense bc the tactical forend is about 2-3 inches longer than the factory 870 one. I thought it was because the slide wasn't going far enough up...never crosses my mind it wasn't going far enough down. Well thanks for the help everyone. Guess ill have to decide on keeping the side saddle or getting a shorter forend.

Re: remington 870 firing issues after re-assembly
Just thought of this...With the barrel off and the blackhawk forend on, it would let me do the full range of slide, dry fire, and pump etc. It wasnt until the barrel was put back on, I was having the issue. I also tried installing the forend on my 870 clone tactical and the forend would not go the whole way over the slide rails. Dont know if I should contact amazon and request a new forend or just let it go. I dont want to return the whole kit (tactical forend and stock).
