How do you carry in your vehicle?
Use to carry my P89 and when driving, I use to put it in the driver side door pocket. I found this awkward being that I'm right handed. Then a couple months ago, I purchased a XDS. Found out that when using the supplied holster, it fits in the storage bin to my right, nice, snug, and easily accessable.

Re: How do you carry in your vehicle?
I purchased my XD with the "carry gear." I bolted the speedloader to the console of my truck and mounted the holster onto the speedloader. The holster is mounted via a rail system which is built into the holster. I'll grab a picture at some point.
This makes it very easy to access the weapon if need be and a whole lot more comfortable if I am concealing.

Re: How do you carry in your vehicle?
I have been trying to decide how to carry myself.
No problem with my j-frame, it is fine in an OWB holster at a 2:30-3:00 position.
My Beretta FS92, however, is a different story. I'm carrying that in an IWB at about the 4:00 position. It is a little uncomfortable to sit in the truck. Since I only just got this and am still working it out.

Just like out of the vehicle, OWB, 3:00. I carry a full-size 1911.
I have once or twice carried it in a IWB holster, same position.
Why move it around? Is this a frequent thing? While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Re: How do you carry in your vehicle?
There are a lot of variables, different handguns, different vehicles, different people sizes. I was just curious because I've never had any trouble accessing my pistol, but I can imagine a couple difficult setups.
Good luck working this out. The less you have to handle it, the better. While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Center console. I like the gun to be completely out of sight and enclosed. In the event of a hard stop or collision, I don't want the gun loose in the cabin. One of the FBI agents in the Miami mess lost his gun because it was on the seat rather than secure on his body or secure in the car.
The first one to use the word "sheeple" automatically loses the argument.

OP,
Is it your plan to engage a bad guy from inside your vehicle, let alone with your seat belt on? I can't think of any scenario where that would be my first choice of action.
You really want to maintain control of the side arm at all times. Keep it on your person.Toujours prêt
