Re: How do you carry in your vehicle?
Ahh, one of the very few benefits of being a lefty. I am left handed and always shot right handed. I used to holster on my left side and crossdraw since I drive so much. I decided to learn to shot left handed and now its my standard way to shoot, except with rifles. Driving is so much better and being able to shoot with both hands accurately is cool.

On my hip at all times. Little tougher with the 1911. That hammer sometimes feels likes it's piercing your kidneys, but with a little adjustment (maybe from 3 to 4 o'clock) I'm good to go.

Re: How do you carry in your vehicle?
On my hip. My knee jerk reaction is going to be "run the eff away!" since I'll be in a car and I can just floor it or in the worst case scenario use my car as my weapon if there is an active shooter infront of me.
If they get the jump on me and I can't get away the whole getting to my gun even from easy access is likely moot cause they will probably have something pointing at my face. So you go along with whatever they are doing and if they are foolish not to pat you down you wait for an opportunity and turn the tides.

Re: How do you carry in your vehicle?
Just two points to make ...
1 - Every time you unholster your firearm, you create a chance for that firearm to discharge, whether by choice, or by negligence. The fewer times you unholster/reholster the better off you are.
2 - Unsecured in a cup holder, wedged between the seat and center console, jammed into some nook or cranny? That's just stupid. Go check out Newton and the law of inertia, or watch some crash test vids and see how common, ordinary objects become life-threatening projectiles in a crash.A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Another one that will state - I carry it the same way that I do everyday, strong side hip.
Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

Re: How do you carry in your vehicle?
I carry crossdraw, so it's accessible by either hand, is comfortable, and won't bounce or shift out of reach in the event of an accident.
