Default 30-06 Dillon head space/case gage

I have a Dillon .223 head space/case gage that serves me real well. Anyone know anything about a Dillon head space/case gage for the 30-06?

I like to use this before I put the Lake City ammo in my 03A3

I don't see why it wouldn't work exactly the same as any other case gauge. Checks head space....checks OAL..... and off you go to the range.

I personally use the LE Wilson case gauges for my 45 and 9mm autoloaders, but would have no issue using the Dillon brand to achieve the same outcome.

Do case gauges actually measure head space or just OAL?

    Bill

edit: Buy this kit and never look back. Life savers that take the guess work out of full length sizing.

LE Wilson gauges such as this can be used for both:

Edit: here's the gauge for .223:

I agree with you completely on the Hornady Headspace gauge kit. I've used one for quite a while.

In addition I also use the Hornady OAL gauge that measures a finished round to the Ogive not the absolute OAL of the round. This applies to the other thread you started about the tangest vs. secant profile of various bullets. This gauge takes all the guess work out of creating the proper length in any given round.

Used in tandem, these two gauges produce very accurate handloads.

Just noticed the OP's request for a 30-06 gauge.

Not sure if Dillon makes one, but LE Wilson does:

I know I could go straight to Dillon but I was trying to avoid shipping, lhandling, etc.
Yep, it does measure head space and OAL from the mouth of the case to the base. It has cut-outs for min and max and very sturdy. It is a "chamber" as such and the only thing it doesn't measure is your seating length of the projectile thanks !!!

Wink Re: 30-06 Dillon head space/case gage

Hey Penquin, good call. Yeah I like that OAL to the olgive, I had that setup as well when I was handloading. I'll do LE and see what I see.
Issue/need: I have a Springfield 03A3 and I have a Garand. Also have a case of Lake City ammo and some older handloads. 99% of the ammo will run in the Garand but - will crunch sometimes in chambering the 03. The Springfield was a "never fired" ...no big deal to me because I like to "look" but I like to "shoot" more than look and polish!
Plus some of that surplus has been used in links for those bad, evil, nasty machine guns! Has a tendency to have been handled a little rough.

    Thanks guyz
