Republican Speaker of Dem Controlled House

it looks like the PA house of representatives might retain the current republican speaker even though the democrats have a 1 vote majority as one democrat is going to vote for the current (republican) speaker to keep the post.

pretty crazy. should be good for gun issues.

Looks like Perzel didn't get elected, but another R did. I suspect that this isn't the end of developments in the legislature. I suspect we may see a few of the moderate dems flip to the R side, I'd personally rather they switch to the L side, but I doubt that will happen.

I heard the new guy is pro-gun. A nice break for us, if true, since he's in a position to decide which bills leave committee and which die on the vine, unsubmitted.

Just beware. Dennie O'Brien is a decent fellow, but he has reigned in Democrat controlled Philadelphia for 30+ years now. One does not do that without making deals.

If it came down to his vote to decide if Philly gets to control its own gun laws, I wouldnt place bets on our rights.

Hopefully I'm way off base.
