Default Bersa Thunder .380 Hammer Block

With the hammer down and the safety disengaged, is it possible for the pistol to discharge if the hammer is struck? When the safety is engaged, there's a physical block over the firing pin. But with the safety off, it seems like you could push the hammer forwards enough for it to contact the firing pin, even in the half cock position.

    Thanks,
    AJ

It has been a while since we owned a Thunder .380, but I am pretty sure the FP is blocked/disconnected until you actually squeeze the trigger, so to answer your question...no, it should not be able to be fired as you describe.

I hate to tell someone something and only be 98% sure, so I found this: http://www.bersa.com/forum/showthrea...afety-quot-Off.

Good to know. I was curious about that same issue when my wife wanted to start our Thunder .380.
