Default New Glock 19 - Range Trip Fail

I picked up my brand new Glock 19 Gen 4 blue label from Atlantic Tactical last Tuesday after ordering it January 26th. I didn't have a chance to take it shooting until today. I loaded up a magazine of Remington UMC, loaded the gun, racked the slide, aimed, and pulled the trigger.... Nothing.

Okay bad round. Rack the slide, aim, and pull the trigger again... Nothing. What the heck? Before ejecting the round I looked at the slide this time and it was not fully reset. Rack the slide again to chamber the next round... Same issue.
Drop the mag and put a few rounds into the next mag... Same issue. Load different rounds into the second mag... Same issue.

My shooting partner is an experienced shooter and a cop so he looks it over and can't really find anything out of place. He removed the slide resat the barrel and recoil spring and guide rod. And after putting it back together we loaded it and it fired. But when it cycled the next round... Same issue.

We also checked the rounds that did not fire and the striker did make contact but it was a very light strike and on the edge on the primer almost on the casing.

So my brand new Glock that I waited a couple months to get in is defective.
I called Glock and the tech said he thought it was a recoil spring and sent me a replacement.

Has anyone heard of this before? Does it sound plausible that it is just as easy as the recoil spring assembly?

Any feedback would be useful. If it isn't the recoil spring it has to go back to Glock.

Disappointing to say the least,Gen 4s are known to have several issues that can be worked out, this is one reason the gen 4s go up for sale most often over the gen3s.To save time I would have sent the gun back to Glock for a work up and get it fixed !Dont give up on the Glocks yet,I feel your pain !

Try the new recoil spring, if that doesnt fix it send it in.

I have an earlier gen 4 19 and have never had problems with it. I also have gen 4 17 and 27.

    Did you try different ammo?

It kind of sounds like the slide isn't tracking right so a spring may solve it.

I tried the UMC, foocchi, American Eagle, PDX1 and hydrashock. For the record.

BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Did you clean and lube the pistol prior to shooting it?

I am a Glock owner. Gen II.
I have been hearing problem with 'captured Spring'
    with the new Glocks.

    So, nothing big. Easy fix.
I understand Glock is working on it.

This is what I'm thinking. Packing grease in firing pin channel maybe?
