    Default Carrying while Bowhunting?

If you have an LTCF, can you carry while bowhunting?

Just be careful, if you carry a wheel gun, you might have trouble.

The reg does not distinguish between types of handgun actions.

With a LTC you can carry any firearm, revolver or semi-auto while bowhunting.

With a Sportsman's Permit, you can only carry a revolver while hunting in certain seasons, and archery season is not one of them.

In other words, if you want to carry while archery hunting, you need a LTC and then you can carry either.

The PGC can consider a revolver a "legal hunting firearm"
If you have a semi, no problem. A snubbie "may be ok"?

I can't find the link right now, but that is the way it was stated,

I can't find the link right now, but that is the way it was stated,
The reg states that ALL firearms covered by the license are permitted.

    Ref: http://www.pgc.state.pa.us/pgc/lib/p...07/updates.pdf
All hunters and spotlighters who have a License to Carry Firearms Permit can
now carry firearms, but only those authorized by the permit, which are defined in Title 18, Section 6102 of the Crimes Code.
Here is ss6102 definition of "firearm" as referenced inthe above PGC reg:
"Firearm." Any pistol or revolver with a barrel length less
than 15 inches, any shotgun with a barrel length less than 18
inches or any rifle with a barrel length less than 16 inches, or
any pistol, revolver, rifle or shotgun with an overall length of
less than 26 inches. The barrel length of a firearm shall be
determined by measuring from the muzzle of the barrel to the
face of the closed action, bolt or cylinder, whichever is
    applicable.

So again. ANY handgun is legal to carry (for defense) during any hunting season provided you have an LTCF.

I undestand where you are coming from.
However, a bowhunter, with a scoped Ruger Super Redhawk, in a bandolier holster, may have some trouble during archery season.

That's not what you said You said "revolver"

And who's to say I don't carry a scoped revolver for defense anyway... The law doesn't differentiate, therefore unless they see you using it inappropriately you have a solid defense.
