Default Am I the only one who thinks this is nuts?

I love a nice 1911 and am willing to spend good money on them.......but $4,500.00 plus for a Colt "custom shop" gun? That's full custom build territory.......and $5,500.00 buy now? That's enough for a full blown Ted Yost build or a highly optioned Wilson Supergrade........

I would never pay that much for a painted gun and a rebranded otis cleaning kit.....ever.

Had to do everything within my willpower to NOT click Buy Now. I was so close. My wife came in the room and she's banned me from GunBroker, so I had to close the window down. I'm hoping it's still there when I can sneak back on.

Wow....there are bids on it too. Not for me, does seem a bit pricey for what it is.

This gun was recently on the cover of a magazine (don't remember which one) and I found out a guy at the lgs, who is a collector, talking about it. He said the shop had a number of them on order, so I gave him the mag. Don't really know what they were going to price them at, but I know that figure never came in to the discussion. It sounds like this guy got his hands on one of the early ones and is trying to catch a sucker off guard. No, I do not think these are going to be plentiful, but I also don't think they're going to be a one of a kind either.

And not exactly hard to "fake" either.
