The kid needs his ass tanned! His parents should pay all the damages. After that he should be made to pay his parents back by selling his stuff. Bike, computer, toys and oh yea the BB gun all gone! If that doesn't raise enough then its time for physical labor.

Then his parents would be facing felony assault and abuse charges.

I don't disagree with you at all, but today they want the government to be the parents. I don't know how this played out but being a juvenille, will he be prohibited now?

Also I still can't wrap my head around this considering BB guns as firearms. If it's used in the commission of a crime, e.g. a robbery, then I don't have a problem with it, but in all incidents makes zero sense.

CATAWBA COUNTY — The district attorney’s office dismissed the case Friday against an 8-year-old Catawba County boy who was facing two felony charges.

Sam Grant’s parents said they were relieved by the D.A.’s decision to drop the charges against their son and to put the situation behind them.

The charges stemmed from an incident in February. Sam’s parents said he was playing with a BB gun outside and aimed at an abandoned house nearby, but ended up shooting and damaging two cars.

His parents said they paid for the damages, but the sheriff’s office charged the boy with two felony counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

When the family went to court Friday for a first appearance, officials told them the charges were dropped.

His parents said the case should never have been brought against their son, but they were prepared for the worst.

“Sam was shaking in fear from all this, and happy about the outcome,” his father, Johnny Robbins, said.

    It was still serious.

Everyone knows all BB guns are Glocks, which are firearms.

It all starts with BB guns and leads to harder weapons. Before you know it they're wielding a full semi-auto military style assault rifle.
