Default Connecticut: PA Sportsmen's Response - Action Item

Today is the day that you can make a very big noise.

    Remember the ESOS boycott...

    Let’s repeat it.

Same intensity, same reason; Our gun rights and the attacks against them.

    Read on:

Very much in doubt is the future of gun manufacturers in a state once known as the cradle of the American gun industry. Many gun makers, like other manufacturers, have long since left the state.

But according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation in Newtown, gun manufacturers in Connecticut account for 2,899 jobs — 7,340 including related businesses, such as suppliers — and have a $1.7 billion economic impact. They include giants like Colt Manufacturing; O. F. Mossberg & Sons, the oldest family-owned firearms manufacturer in America; and Stag Arms of New Britain, founded 10 years ago, which is unable to keep pace with its orders.

Stag produces 6,000 AR-15 rifles a month, which critics call assault weapons but users and the gun industry call “modern sporting rifles.”

All of the companies have been wooed by other states, particularly those in the South and West.

Mark Malkowski, the 34-year-old founder of Stag Arms, said he grew up in New Britain, where the company is based, and had never before considered leaving the state. But he said he would consider it now.

“If our product is so bad, so dangerous, why would the state of Connecticut want us to produce it here, create jobs here, manufacture it here and ship it to all the other states?” he said.

There are six primary gun companies in Connecticut:

    Colt Manufacturing Co
    O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc.
    Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc.
    Stag Arms
    Charter Arms
    Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co

We need to contact them all.

In conjunction with that effort, we need to concurrently contact our state senators and representatives.

The purpose of this effort is to let the gun companies in Connecticut and the greater new England area - and beyond know that Pennsylvania is the place they should be calling home.

This is NOT a wasted effort. This is not something to do just to do something.

This effort, indeed, lets these companies know we have their back and that we would also like to have them in our state. Further, that we, and our legislature will support them in manufacturing their products and our right to use them.

The only effort wasted is the effort not expended in this battle for fundamental rights.

I am asking that each of you take the small amount of time required to do the following (next post). A small investment of time, that can have an impact several ways.

It does place the gun companies on notice that we would love to have them move to the state.

It places our legislators on notice we want a specific action from them on this issue... quickly.

It makes our legislators very visually aware of the support for our 2nd A rights and allows those not normally involved to stand and be counted.

This action can and should be the catalyst and a building block for a more robust and attended April 23 Gun Rally in Harrisburg:

    http://www.2arally.com/

Time for action. We need everyone on this.

Again, there are six primary gun companies in Connecticut:

    Colt Manufacturing Co
    O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc.
    Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc.
    Stag Arms
    Charter Arms
    Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co

We need to contact them all.

I suggest a quick and direct message for all of them.

    My suggestion:

It is with dismay that I watch as your state legislature seeks to vilify your company and products. As serious is the very plain message that they seek to seriously harm your business economically. Notwithstanding, they are attacking not only your products, but the bedrock principals of our countries constitution and seeking to make gun makers and gun owners a class of citizens to be controlled with special regulation and law.

I encourage you to consider moving to Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania has a robust gun culture. Hunting and shooting are core activities and traditions in the state. That might account for the fact that we are the largest NRA Individual Member state in the nation.

Pennsylvania also has a storied and historic manufacturing base that is available for your use. Being centrally located on the east coast will allow keeping current regional business relationships while possibly improving your shipping and receiving operations. Pennsylvania also offers a legislature that understands the large gun culture in the state and votes to support it.

To this end, I have copied my legislators on this email demanding they pass a resolution in both the Pennsylvania House and Senate, within the next several weeks, supporting the Connecticut and Greater New England Gun Making Community moving to Pennsylvania.

Further, I am demanding from my legislators they include in the resolution that the state Economic Development Commission and other agencies, commissions, or boards, as they exist to make every resource available to attract these gun companies and ammunition manufactures into this state.

    Thank you for your consideration,

    Name address phone#

    Or –

We welcome you to move to Pennsylvania.
We are the number one NRA Individual Member state in the nation. We are the third largest state in the nation in hunting license sales.

I have contacted my state senator and representative and demanded they pass a resolution supporting enhanced efforts and desire for you moving to Pennsylvania.

    Thanks,

    Name address phone#

Or write your on – or edit above to your liking.

So you have sent your emails.

    Now what?

Contact everyone you know that is pro-gun or has no issues with them. Use your email address book, Facebook, Twitter, text messages; link this post to everyone and anyone of like mind.

Remember to contact friends, family, co-workers, the guys and gals at the club. Make sure those dealing guns in the community know as well. A flyer or even word of mouth in this effort will go a long way.

Likely, when possible, linking this post will be the easiest way to get the word out electronically. Though the manner you do it is totally up to each of you.

It is vital we apply pressure to our elected to propose and pass a resolution in both chambers of the state general assembly supporting the gun companies moving to Pennsylvania.

Use the contact information you got before and call the local office and ask for a response to your request. Make sure they understand you are serious, and you are going to follow up on the demand.

    Be friendly.
    Be courteous.
    Be direct.
Repeat until desired action is taken.

Sportsmen can have a huge impact on our legislature and our state making a play for these companies moving to Pennsylvania.

If nothing else, a very clear message by a very large group further solidifies in the minds of our own elected legislators that we are indeed involved. That they know we are indeed closely looking, watching, and listening to the events around us on these issues.

It puts the legislators on clear notice of the things we demand from them. It also places the burden of proving their commitment and support to our gun rights with the demand for the resolution we ask for.

That resolution, if passed, will be a very clear message to the gun companies that we as a state stand in unity in our desire for them to relocate here. Where other states have some legislators, or a state agency making the pitch, we have the chance to make a very large, very public display of that desire.

In this, the only loss is if the effort is not taken. Truly, nothing ventured – nothing gained.

But... all the Democrats in the Philly area would be SOOOOOO against this... they dont want guns there or ANYWHERE in PA... and to have a company that makes them ??? OH MY GAWD.... The seas would part, the mountains would crumble and they will all have a heart attack.... well.. we can only hope for the last one.....

It would be great for them to move here... create jobs, and we are NOT that far away so the move would be easier than having to go so much farther away....

If I owned one of those company's, Pa would be low on my list. We're not far from having the same problems in this state. As philthy and other city's in our state grow so will the socialist agenda. The progressive politicians have no respect for the US or state Constitutions. They are merely a barrier to their agenda. A barrier that the are slowly breaking down. We have activist judges who are more concerned with furthering their agenda than defending the Constitution. Allowing the progressives to proceed with their treasonous acts.

We are becoming a refuge camp for gun owners from NY, NJ, MD and even CT. They will come here seeking the freedom they have lost. With them, they will bring the political beliefs that cost them their freedom in the first place. Desperate to turn Pa into a place more like home. Look at Colorado.

My wife and I have been talking. Our oldest daughter just retired from the army and has bought a home in Western Texas. It's very likely that we'll be moving to either Texas or Arizona in a few years. Maybe sooner depending on how events unfold. I've had enough of being surrounded by libtards.

Connecticut lawmakers gave final approval early Thursday to a wide-ranging bill that includes sweeping new restrictions on weapons and large capacity ammunition magazines....

Following a total of more than 13 hours of respectful and at times somber debate, the House and the Senate voted in favor of the 139-page bill crafted by leaders from both major parties in the Democratic-controlled General Assembly.

The bill now goes to Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, who was scheduled to sign it at noon on Thursday during a ceremony at the state Capitol....

Guns etc etc are "property". If the government bans something isn't that a form of Eminent Domain and you should be reimbursed for your "property"?

Yes, most times people are compensated for guns they must by law turn in. It happened in Australia, and in the UK. One thing keeping that from happening here is that there are so many guns, that it would cost Billions to compensate people for them.
