price control in classifieds
I know the powers that be have already said that you do not control pricing in the ads. When I read that A while back I totally understood and respected that. However, I think at this point perhaps a temporary change would be beneficial! This site is for and used by real gun owners. we all know that the ban is now dead and prices are coming back down. The problem as I see it is as somebody else mentioned in a previous thread started about the high prices. Are the investors trying to dump off guns they overpaid for a few months ago. Sure the simple answer is just don't buy the gun. however the real problem is just all the clogging up of the classifieds section with these way over priced guns. These people selling them are not real members, but rather just trying to dump off guns here. All this does is makes it a pain in the rump for one of us members to look for a gun we want by having to sort thru over priced ad after over priced ad. let those guys either take a loss or try and dump their guns where they actually have a shot at selling it, and save us the headache!
Thank you for your time

Yeah, I know. It is almost as bad as having to sort through post after post of people complaining about high prices and why the mods won't do anything about it.

i disagree
the free market does what the free market does. PAFOA shouldn't be in the business of making prices "fair"

We should also have to submit all posts to the Moderators for review to ensure the content is valuable before they can be posted. It would control a lot of bull shit.

I hear Obama is going to appoint a Forum Gun Sale Czar to look into the high prices of firearms.
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Re: price control in classifieds
Oh don't look at it, why didn't i think of that? Oh thats right because I have to look at it to see the price!
Empty we all know what a mini 14 is worth don't we? Safe to say $1850 isn't going to sell here is it?
So lots of complaints about the pricing and yet you say oh well? Interesting!
Fyi a simple solution is just have people put the price in the thread header. That saves your REAL members the hassle of fishing!
Why is there a suggestion section if you just blow people off with such an attitude? I must have been confused and thought I was on PAFOA and not gunbroker.

Re: price control in classifieds
You are well within your rights to make such a suggestion. No one here is obligated to take you seriously. It is sort of like the prices people ask. Anyone can ask what they want. No one is obligated to spend that. Somehow though, I don't think you are going to make the connection.
