Default Democrats propose $10,000 fine for gun owners who don’t have insurance

Sometimes I wonder if they are intentionally trying to cause a backlash.

Everyone now understand what "Fast & Furious" meant ?? It's for the Legislation blitz that would follow their "planned" event.

That flopped, but their new hero is Lanza, maybe they'll put him on Mt. Rushmore.

A contingent of liberal Democrats in Congress is proposing a new federal gun control idea: mandatory liability insurance for gun owners.

When New York Rep. Carolyn Maloney introduced the legislation last month with eight other Democrats, she boasted that it is “the first bill to require liability insurance of gun buyers nationwide.”

Maloney’s “Firearm Risk Protection Act” requires gun buyers to have “a qualified liability insurance policy” before they are able to legally purchase a firearm.

It also calls for the federal government to impose a fine as much as $10,000 if a gun owner doesn’t have insurance on a firearm purchased after the bill goes into effect.

A question for the political animals backing and sponsoring this bill. How can I, as a responsible, law-abiding citizen, purchase an insurance product that does not exist? And even if it did exist, would most likely be priced out of range of all but the wealthiest of Americans?

Just another push by the elitists to disarm the new peasantry, is all.

And this will do what to curb violence?

I understand what they really want. The ones who are really pissing me off are the ones who truly believe in the 2nd Amendment, but want "common sense" laws. They have no idea they are being used as pawns.

The liberals like to throw the race card when they're on the defense why aren't we. We should be calling this the Disarm the poor Ni**ers bill. This is the democrat's way to turn black people back into slaves.

We should be asking why do the left wing politicians always propose bills that disarm the same people that need a gun the most to protect themselves in these same poor neighborhoods the liberals created. You surely know the gang bangers and criminals will not have liability insurance on their illegally acquired guns.

I use the same argument with people of color when they tell me the democrats are for them. I always say well I guess when they have convinced you as a race to kill 50% of your children by abortion so they must be for the black people? We want to get rid of the abortion clinics and the democrat politicians fight tooth and nail to keep them. Why don't you look up where all the Planned Parenthood Clinics are located in town and notice that more than 75% are located in prominently black neighborhoods? I guess when we as Republicans are trying to stop the senseless murder of on average 1,000 unborn black children every day we're out to get you? I always get the same reaction a blank stare and no real rebuttal to my argument.

This would be unconstitutional. Not that that matters.

I does matter. They need to be arrested and tried in court after the breakup.

If that's the case then I demand criminals get liability insurance for their dangerous career to cover them just in case I'm forced to use deadly force whilst they commit their crime!

Maybe we need Liability Insurance before we get an Internet account? The Pen is mightier than the Sword, yes?

A lot more people died from that one character who posted a Cartoon of Mohammad than from my firearm. Heck, what about that Internet story about Americans burning Korans in Afghanistan? Killed more people than any of our firearms, yes?

I think if owning a gun requires insurance than certainly having access to the Internet requires some insurance.

For example - think of all of the children we could save from kidnapping, sexual exploitation or pornography if every person online had to have liability to pay for the hurt that happens to Children.

    Think of the Children!!!

Mrs. McCarthy best watch where she steps on this one. She could be opening up a huge problem for herself and her "activist" friends. For example, people who organize "Occupy" rallies online could find themselves being slammed with requirements for liability insurance. Legal precedents can cut many ways, can they not?

Gun Ownership is not like driving a car.

Gun Ownership has been declared a right. Shooting people with firearms is NOT a right, it must be validated as self defense.

The US Supreme Court has never ever declared that driving a car is right.

Ms. McCarthy - so full of stupid ideas.

The "Race Card" only works on people who have a sense of shame. One thing you can about most Democrats - ain't no shame in their game. Shame is for "reactionaries".

Many suport "gun control" works because they figure, "Those laws only apply to other people. Bad people. I'm a good person. I don't have to worry".

As people realize, "Hey, why am I going to have to this much money or get fined $10,000?" they realize that gun control applies to them too.
