They seem to be fully aware of the fact that if they try to help the mayor engage in his illegal activities, they will be in violation of the law.

Which is good. It will help with pursuing criminal and civil complaints against any officers who engage in stealing weapons or ammo, or who act under color of law to deny a citizen his/her civil rights by illegally detaining them in an attempt to enforce "laws" that are blatantly illegal. It is good for them to be aware that such enforcement will land them in both state and federal courts.

It also sounds like they are willing to well beyond simple non-enforcement, and are willing to engage in active demonstations and political action to help. Good stuff.

We only have to look to Germany after the War. All the Death Camp Guards claimed 'They were only following orders' and the International Courts ruled that just following orders is not a defense.

That's refreshing. I also noticed Dan made a thoughtful appearance.

Wow, nice to see all those cops come out for the average gunowner. I am fortunate enough to know a ton of pro-gun police, but it is nice to know that there are pro-second amendment cops in more than one area.

Kudos to them, I hope they have the ear of their fellow officers.

As to their shiftless shithole of a union, I would venture to say that it is their folly to stay in the FOP.

They should OUST the FOP and organize under their own union. The FOP is the most anti gun union out there since they have the 'interests of law enforcement' behind them.

It makes a good point that the mayor will be throwing a lot of good LEO's to the wolfs. Since any lawsuit would require the officer to appear and defend his making an arrest on an illegal law. In addition it may be a federal offical its official repression. And it interferes with your civil right which may cost the office jail time in addition to fines the city won't be picking up.

I popped in and thanked them for their support. Hopefully, we can make Harrisburg understand that they need to stand up to Nutter before someone gets arrested and successfully sues the city. Nutter doesn't care about what happens to his underlings; they're like pawns on a chess board, so long as the game proceeds in what he thinks is his favor. For that matter, he doesn't give a hang about the state constitution or the rights of other Pennsylvanians under it, not to mention his very own constituency.

This placesan undue burden on the officers, they have taken an oath to uphold the laws of this Commonwealth, They can not enforce an illegal law , yes it sounds ironic. this is not allowed under the Home Rule Charter which limits what the City is allowed to do.

Constitutions are documents which define the limits ofa Governing body, they are not Carte Blanche documents to allow the Governing body to do as it pleases. The Totalarian governments dowhat they please and you can see what happens there.
