New York St. LTCF ?
New here, but have been reading forum for a while. I have a question about NY LTCF, I have one that was issued in 95 to me. I also have had a PA LTCF for the last 15 years. I was at a range in buffalo, ny last weekend with my brother, shooting our pistols. a NY SPO that was shooting there and is member of the club asked where I was from and of course I told him PA. He wanted to know how I got pistol into state. I told him I had a NY LTCF, and showed him. He stated he had thougth that all out of LTCF were revoked to out of state residents. I'v been going up there every couple of weeks to shoot with my brother, Does anyone know the status of NY LTCF for out of state residents? Sorry so long winded.

Isn't the NY LTCF expired by now?

Re: New York St. LTCF ?
I believe that if you have a NYS pistol permit, it is good for life or unless revoked. I don't know what you were issued in '95 but mine issued in '02 is that way. You have the old yellow paper copy with your pistols listed on the back with your thumb-print?
Where were you shooting at?

Re: New York St. LTCF ?
NYS permits are good for life, unless you move out of state. I'm moving back to Pa. in a few months, and was told to turn in my permit, and that they would reissue it if I ever moved back. In short non residents can't carry in NY

Edit just found this
http://www.nysrpa.org/nygunlaws.htm
Looks like my interpretation of their confusing bs laws was wrong.Last edited by TheBuckslayer; April 13th, 2008 at 06:57 PM.

Re: New York St. LTCF ?
Thanks for the responces. My permit was issued in Mayville, NY in 1995.
I was an out of state resident at the time. Took about 6 months to get.
The kicker to this is I was in Mayville in Nov. to get a pistol removed from my permit, it was transfered to my brother that got his permit in Sept. 07.
Handed my permit to young lady at window stated I needed to get the Colt 45 removed from permit. Showed her paper from FFL that it was transfered to brother. She handed permit back with Colt X'd out with typewriter, said have a good day and I was on my way. So I'm confused. why did she not keep permit and tell me I could no longer have it?
Don't know where range is meet my brother in Randomville, NY at mothers and he drives us into buffalo, very bad part of town, range was and old theatre I believe.
Thanks all

Re: New York St. LTCF ?
Is the address on your permit for where you live in Pa. ? The county clerk's office told me only NY addresses are legal.(Monroe county.)

Re: New York St. LTCF ?
With a Pa. address I would say it was good to go, since NY permits are good till revoked.

Re: New York St. LTCF ?
just got alittle worried because I travel in NY alot, since my mother had a stroke last year. I meet my brother every couple of week and shot in Stockton and Buffalo or Wislon at brother in-laws. Don't want to call NY permit office and start asking questions and have to give my name. May lead to problems with permit.
Thanks agian for the help. This site is great.
