America's Gun
If any gun can claim to be "America's Gun" it is the 1911 .45ACP Semi-Automatic Pistol, developed by John Moses Browning, the 1911 has been on "active duty" now for over 100 years and still going strong. A gun safe without a 1911 is defective! I love my 1911s and enjoy shooting them. They may not be for everybody, but they sure are for me. I also enjoy my Glocks and polymer-framed handguns. Yes, you can enjoy both.
Here's a video I made on my Springfield Loaded.

Re: America's Gun
I'd have to say it's better than ever. Anyone who is someone is either building them, or looking into it, and they've reached a level with a few, obscure builders that's somewhere between Picasso and Rolex. Yea, sounds a little retarded...I'll just rephrase by saying I agree with you.
I have the stainless, long slide version of the 'Loaded' with bull barrel and rear adjustable sights. I'll be holding on to it for a while.Last edited by harold63; March 31st, 2013 at 05:10 PM.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Re: America's Gun
Well, I do agree that the 1911 is ONE of America's Guns. But don't forget the gun that made men equal: Samuel Colts revolver. Ask anyone from another country to name the gun that a cowboy, sheriff, or even a bad guy is carrying in a movie and they will probably say "a Colt 45".

Re: America's Gun
Nope....
America's gun has got to be without a doubt the venerable M-1 Garand....the rifle that beat back the Nazis' and liberated Europe!"When I hit it, I expect it to fall the hell down and die!"

Re: America's Gun
Can we go with America's Guns?
I love me some 1911 but there are just so many other firearms that come to mind, certainly a revolver or two. And that M1, that's a no-brainer.Johnnie F.

Re: America's Gun
The Garand was a great rifle, still is, but with our superior numbers and supply system, I'd like to think that we'd have beaten back the nazi scum without the Garand.
Hell, think about this, had it not been for the Garand, the war might have dragged on and we would have been using AK-47's to kill krauts.
Wouldn't that have been strange?
Calling the AK-47 America's rifle?
