Tri Star
Couldn't resist any longer - picked up a Tri Star 380. I have a few Turkish guns and they are all top quality. I've heard nothing buy good about these tri stars, canik's, etc.. And for $289 I had to! Ordered some nice wood grips from my overseas friend right away Gun should be in Wednesday, my ffl had me get one for him too .....

Re: Tri Star
Gun came in last week, and my new grips from my buddy in Thailand came in today. I think they look sweet - then again, I'm partial to rosewood type wood grips

Re: Tri Star
They are blowback right? I also remember seeing that the grips fit longer than the frame. Do you plan on trimming them down? It looks good.

Re: Tri Star
If they made a subcompact 9mm in 1911 control pattern I'd take one.

Re: Tri Star
First off let us know how that puppy shoots, grips look fantastic, that is one of the few of their models that I don't have. Zet 70 they do make that same model in 9mm . Here is EFR's custom tri star 9mm with a dawson tactical rear novak sight and a tritium front sight. You can do a lot with these pistols and both the tristar and canik lines are a great value.
PS give us range report on the 380 also how many rounds does it hold?www.EastonFirearmsRefinishing.com Owner/Operator, NRA Pistol Instructor

Re: Tri Star
I'm going to keep them as they are. Because they come down almost to the bottom of the mag - I'm ok with it. I know Canik has changed to metal thin bottom mags I believe, so glad I don't have them because the grips might hang down below and I'd have to adjust ! So far, very happy with my $289 hi capacity cz clone

Re: Tri Star
As Brian pointed out, it does come in compact 9. Somewhat 1911 thumb safety, obviously no grip safety and different trigger.
Dumb question, but I'm a little uneasy carrying this cocked with safety on ( I know, I need to get over that - lol. I have gotten over it with my Sig 238, but will take time on this one ). Is it unsafe to cock and then manually drop the hammer and carry so it as double action? Would a hit to the hammer cause discharge?"Tastefully Pimptastic"

Re: Tri Star
I know I'd love a RAMI clone. Can't find a 2075 anywhere. When I do they are around $600.

Re: Tri Star
For $289 that's a good deal so I take it that it holds 15 in the mag , shoot it and let us know how it goes I been thinking about getting this one just to compare it to an CZ 83.
