How long to wait for LTCF?

My wife applied for her LTCF a while ago (Allegheny Co.) and has not received ANY kind of notice yet. No yellow card, no a denial, no corrospondance form the Sherriff's office.... nothing.

It has not been quite 45 days from the time she emailed it, but it is getting very close.

My question is, how long do we wait? I know the system is a bit overloaded at the moment, but how far past 45 days do I wait before contacting them, and how exactly do I go about things? Do I ask for a quick decision, as they are beyond the timeframe? What is my legal recourse once they pass the time frame? And can I demand that they issue one, once the time has clearly passed?

Wow! You guys get to email it? In NorCo, we have to be there in person.

I applied February 1, and it was issued March 6. I didn't want to get assertive with them, lest they think of a reason to deny it, kind of like the proverbial cop that tells you that the screws holding your license plate on are a little loose. I figured I would worry about it AFTER the 45 days.

I'm in York County and I applied on Nov 9th and got an email Nov 13.

My wife's was well over a month and I called in to the sheriff's office to see if perhaps we just missed the email or call and the deputy said "oh ya come on in and pick it up"...so you may just want to give them a ring.

Just applied for mine today in Northampton county. I was told 6-8 weeks

1 year ago Chester County took about exactly 21 calendar days from submission to having it in the mailbox.

OP, I would have her call and verify they received the application for sure. Just be polite!

In 2008 I waited two weeks.

Not sure how long it will take when I renew in November, hopefully instantly.

If she really emailed it, you could be waiting a very long time. Since mid-2011, state law has required that you apply in person.
