Gun Reviews...

With all the talk of gun reviews from the "...when we talked about guns" thread, is there any chance of getting a sub forum under Gun Pictures for Gun Reviews? I love this idea and I have a few reviews to write myself, problem is that the reviews will get buried in the regular discussions just as NineseveN's Walther P99 Review did. If we had a sub forum for reviews only, I think they would be more accessible to everyone! Thoughts?

I think it would be an excellent idea to have a "Gun Review" section somewhere. It would save on a lot of "search time" if this information was all in one place. To combine this section with the gun pictures somehow/someway would be a nice idea too in my opinion.

Frankly I just posted in the "...when we talked about guns" thread and mentioned gun reviews and how I might see it handled. I admit I did not read the whole thread and didn't know this was a subject. I,of course, love the idea!!

One way to do it, without having an entire subforum for reviews is to have a MOD create and sticky a post titled (Gun and Gear Reviews). Then the mods would be responsible for editing the post to include links and a brief description of each review. We do this on NDE, and the staff and I generally catch the reviews on our own, but if not, the members PM one of us about the review. It actually works surprisingly well.

Whenever we add a review, we add a reply to the thread stating "updated".

It works pretty good really, but that's only one way to go with it.

sounds like a good idea, maybe a sticky in the subtopic that would have a template for people to fill in to cover all areas of a review...
