My dad got a Sako Finnwolf in trade for a car repair back in the 70's. I used to hunt with it until dad found out what it was worth. He then took me to Edelmans on the Blvd in NE Philly and bought me a Rem 700 30-06. That's still my go to deer rifle. On the downside my older brother ended up with the Finnwolf and AFAIK it's rusting away in his basement.

Wow, I was really starting to feel old reading this thread and remembering Edelmans. Than I read further and how some people worked there and others were old enough to buy guns there, then it dawned on me that I'm not the only old fart here. I however didn't know there were multiple locations. I was only there a few times as kid and still remember it and even talk about how I wish they were still there when we drive by.

Loved going to Edleelman's on 309 as a kid and I also went to the Sport Spot on 611. I was at Dell's yesterday in Lansdale i really like his place and he had some 22 and 7.62x39.

I believ the "Edels" went on to start up the Company called 'KIMBER"

One of them then went on to , and currently, is running SIG USA.

I have never heard this. Tim has always been good to me. If Tim Screwed anyone because of his move it would make no sense as he only moved about 3 mins. away. Business owners who stay in the same area and tell you where there Kids go to school and what clubs they belong to usually do not screw folks over.

I bought many guns, ammo, reloading stuff, etc from the Long Island store. I even bought one of those H&K 91s on sale for $499 (around 1986) and still have it. For the same price you had a choice of a 91 or 93 in black, Nato camo or desert camo.

Actually, Leslie Edelman went on to purchase Kimber America.
