    Default Multi Use Handgun

Hi, I am looking for a pistol that can serve my several needs. I am going to graduate school this fall in Philadelphia and decided I wanted to start carrying since (I will be taking the train and so on and so forth). In addition my friend and I are hiking the AT for a few weeks after he gets discharged from the Army and also he wants me to get into target shooting with him. I am basically looking for a 9mm pistol (or if money becomes an option a .22) that I can carry with me in these two situations and be accurate and relatively cheap to shoot at the range. I would like to spend as little as possible (preferably under $325) and would be willing to purchase a used gun. Your suggestions are greatly appreciated Thanks!

You have a few options in that price range. The Taurus PT111 and the Kel-Tec P11, both 9mm, come to mind. I've owned both and prefer the Taurus over the Kel-Tec, especially if you'll be target shooting with it.

Stay away from Kelt-Tec I personally have had nothing but problem with their firearms. The PT111 sound like it would be right up your alley. Also please don't carry a .22 for self defense.

you should look into Sig P6's that are flooding the market. I have heard Dan's Ammo has nice ones. These are police trade ins. It is a 9mm pistol, accurate, and comfortable in the hand. a great range gun and good carry gun.

I had one. heavy as hell, low capacity (8 rounds) and had feed issues. I have since heard that some of the models (forget how to tell) had different feed ramps and would not feed HP's.

For a little more you can get a new XDSC9, or look for a used one, or used GlOCK, prob a G19.

I have two P6 pistols, one from AIMSurplus and one from Dan's. No feed or function problems with either of mine. Great pistol for 259.00. Out the door at Dan's with tax and instant check they were 283.00.
