Antiques Anyone?
My cousin is looking for info on this pistol. I didn't see an antique-specific section on PAFOA but I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this item. All I have at this point is the picture and no supporting data other than saying "A. W. Spies" on the side of the firearm.

That looks to be a screw barrel percussion derringer. You can buy new versions of it still to this day made by a company called pedersoli.
Neat old gun too.

philadelphia style boot pistol from 1830-1855 period. a self defense gun for traveling at night between towns, etc.
