i have been back and forth with ffp and sfp looking at many of the same scopes you are. nightforce seems gtg but the f1 model (ffp) starts getting up there in price and brings up the question of moving into us optics. i looked at the vortex pst and razor and felt that, compared to the nightforce, it wasnt as forgiving when it came to the angle at which i was looking through it. if i wasnt looking directly down the tube my field of view was effected.

as far as rings, i have been between barrett and badger ordinance but am unsure of the ring height. the riser and 30moa rail add considerable height already. all scopes i am looking at are between 44mm and 54mm objectives.

I made my decision on the Razor after many guys who own a NF scope felt the Razor was better. FFP is the only way to go for me, considering you can range your targeta thru the entire spectrum, as opposed to a SFP scope can only range effectively at one power. I considered the NF scope, but felt for the money and mostly the opinions of those who own both, the Razor was a better buy. Not to mention it has an unlimited, lifetime warranty.

cabelas has the nightforce nxs 5.5-20 x56 with zero stop, np-r1 reticle on clearance for 1488. my friend told me their cost on the scope is 1570 or something. the same scope is on optics planet for 1916.

the only problem is there are only like 5 left in the country at that price. i have two being shipped to the store in wheeling. i plan on buying one and if anyone wants the other one let me know so i can have them hold it for you.

Yea just use blue loktite

I would not use a scope not rated for 50 BMG on one of these rifles. It will destroy it. Shake the parts off and in the scope.

LOL.. I guess in all fairness, I've seen people do worse.

For now, I put a Super Sniper 20x on mine. I have a couple of friends that have them on their m82a1 and M99 without issue. They each have over 100rds through theirs. If mine ever sees 100rds I'll be surprised.
