If you are in LE or security you possibly can get an out of state NJ permit. It be sort of like having a pocket grammy I would think.

    Maryland is similarly positioned.

    BOO!
    Yeah it sucks!

If you are an LEO, you are covered under LEOSA. Don't think security is covered under LEOSA, I am a corrections officer and we are not covered under it. And as far as I know, NJ doesn't have a non-res permit. Maryland is the same way I believe.

If you send this to the Superintendent of State Police, and your included "letter of need" is deemed appropriate; you have a snowball's chance in hades.
    oh wait there's more:
    http://www.usacarry.com/new_jersey_c...formation.html

serial number, fingerprints, three references, proof of training

    no sweat!

They CAN issue out of state, however it's my understanding VERY few are actually issued. Maybe you'll catch them on a pleasant morning.

Maryland is listed in having out of state:
    http://www.usacarry.com/maryland_con...formation.html

However, I undertand it's bascially impossible. Curiously MD also states:
"Federal and Maryland State or local law enforcement officers generally are exempt from the permit requirement. However, sheriffs and their deputies are exempted only while on active assignment engaged in law enforcement and only with respect to handguns which they are duly authorized to wear, carry or transport as part of their official equipment. Law enforcement officers from other states are exempt only while on official business."

    They're grumpy sorts.

not really, you aren't incorrect in the spirit I'd imagine, I assume it's impossible as if it didn't exist anyway.

The red tape game is available to try though.

I am free all day, so when ever you guys want to meet is fine with me. Let me know. I think we should meet at the parking lot maybe. Anyway, let me know what you guys want to do.

If you are free earlier then 12 maybe we should get together as early as possible, just because the range might be empty earlier? I was wondering can you hang paper targets on the small handgun range?
