    Default Cabela's coming to Millcreek

I was told they had the land staked out a couple of month's ago but didn't believe it.
    From GoErie:
Cabela's, the outdoor outfitter, plans to open a store in Millcreek Township near the Millcreek Mall.

The retailer will build behind the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in the Millcreek Marketplace, just south of the mall complex.

Cabela's plans a 42,392-square-foot store, which store officials told Millcreek is about two-thirds the size of some of its bigger stores, Millcreek Supervisor Joseph Kujawa said today.

The store will employ 100 to 120 people, he said.

Cabela's is eager to start building soon after it gets approvals from Millcreek, Kujawa said.

The Millcreek Township Planning Commission will make a recommendation on the store's land-development plan at its next meeting April 9. Supervisors will vote on it two weeks later, he said.

Cabela's, based in Sidney, Neb., is an outfitter of fishing, hunting and other outdoor gear.

I like Cabela's but, some of the people that go to the stores need to stay at home. It is a store and not a museum. Keep you freaking cameras at home so that you do not become a hinderence to the shoppers that want to get around the store.

Now with that out of the way, I can see a weekend trip to Erie to compare the new store to the Hamburg store.

Roumor has it they were looking to build in Christiana Delaware before the SHTF storm about guncontrol. We'll see.

Yeah right....watch as the Millcreek supervisors screw this up just because Cabela's forgot to line the right pockets.....

Well that does me no good.

It's 60 miles to the Wheeling location and I've never gone to that one.

It's 133 miles to Mill Creek mall.

Figures.. right near gander mountain, dicks, erie sport store...

God forbid we build anything in the rest of this decaying city.. But i guess we all are used to Peach Jam.

I haven't been to any Cabelas lately, but Bass Pro Shops is definitely like a museum ( more like a redneck zoo), tons of people in the way not buying anything with screaming children.

That's interesting. It isn't on their web site map of "announced locations" but they probably don't list it until all the permits are approved, the local council has voted, etc...

I'm fortunate to work 30 minutes from the Hamburg location. I've learned the hard way that it is better to go in the evening after work. The last time I went on a Saturday morning I was one of the first in the store and I still waited over 2 hrs for a transfer.

It would be about half the drive for me than going to Wheeling. They were looking to build in Mercer years back but the powers to be turned them down.

Take the trip to Wheeling. Cabela's needs to be experienced, it's quite a place.
The most dangerous place in America is a "gun free" zone.
