    Default 9mm Semi-Wadcutters in a Semi-Auto?

I use SWC in my revolvers. Great on the range.
I just picked up some SWC lead to reload .45 to shoot in a 1911.

Does anyone have any experience with 9mm SWC bullets?
I would be shooting them from a Beretta 92FS.

I have shot .358" 158 grain LSWC's in my Beretta M9, and they work and feed well both solid and HP driven to 900+ fps. Lee 125 TC bullets that have a SWC shoulder that I cast feed very well too. I also read of a lot of folks who use the Lee 105 grain SWC in 9mm pistols, can't recall feeding problems, but do recall reports of very good accuracy.

Although they don't have a SWC shoulder, 140 LTC-FP bullets work well in my M9, as do stubby .357" Hornady 125 grain XTP bullets, intended for revolver use... Come to think of it, anything from 95 grain cast RN-158 LSWC's feed just fine in my Beretta; can't jam the damn thing with any properly assembled ammo.

    Good luck!

Absolutely no problem with a variety of modern semi-autos in my hands, though my Luger P08 (1916) requires round nose to feed correctly. I also blow people's minds away at times as I also shoot an S&W M52 which uses full wad-cutters in 0.38 Special rimmed cases. Quite amusing to watch the faces of the "younger set" when they see the brass come out! Dave_n

About two years ago, Montana Gold and Precision Delta prices for 9mm jacketed was the same or one cent more per bullet than the cast bullets I had been using, so I bought a bunch of JHPs.
Up until then, I shot my own cast 115gn L-SWCs or commercial 115gn and 124-125gn L-SWCs in all my 9x19s--including WWII P-38s and WWI and post-WWI lugers (P-08s). All my 9x19s feed the SWC just fine.
    The Lee 105gn L-SWC .38 also shoots fine out of a 9x19.
All my cast bullets are as-cast and tumble lubed in LLA.

I run my Sig 229 on 125 gr lead semi wadcutters and 147 gr lead flat points. After thousands of rounds I don't recall a single feed issue. Load with confidence.

    I made 10 last week.

So I started with the 5 rnds, minimum load (3.9gr of Clays). It shot, but wouldn't cycle the slide. 5 more at 4.0gr. It worked the slide, but seemed light.

    Tonight I made 25 more.
5 each at 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 and 4.5. I marked them as such on the head cases. I will see how they shoot and pick the load I like best.
