Angry Bloomberg, mayor group tout big gun control push

Bloomberg is bring the fight to us! START calling, e-mailing, writing letters! All the anti's are going to try to turn any Senator they can! Lies and misinformation, and spin will be their plan of operation! Take some action each day!! He is spending 12 million dollars.

Bloomberg, mayor group tout big gun control push

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg plans to spend $12 million on a television ad campaign meant to pressure senators into backing gun control efforts, including comprehensive background checks.

The national campaign from Mayors Against Illegal Guns will target states whose senators are on the fence, according to the New York Post.

Bloomberg announced the ad buy Saturday — just days after Senate Democrats touted stronger background checks while acknowledging insufficient support to restore a ban on assault-style weapons to federal gun control legislation.

"These ads bring the voices of Americans — who overwhelmingly support comprehensive and enforceable background checks — into the discussion to move senators to immediately take action to prevent gun violence," Bloomberg said in a statement issued by the group he co-founded in 2006.

The two ads posted on the group's website, called "Responsible" and "Family," show a gun owner holding a rifle while sitting on the back of a pickup truck.

In one ad, the man says he'll defend the Second Amendment but adds "with rights come responsibilities." The ad then urges viewers to tell Congress to support background checks.

In the other ad, the man, a hunter, is shown with the rifle and children playing in the background.

"I believe in the Second Amendment, and I’ll fight to protect it. But with rights come responsibilities,” he says. “That’s why I support comprehensive background checks."

He's got $22B, NRA has maybe 1% of that. The plan is simply to outspend us.

I agree, there really is no excuse given the situation to not throw some money towards the NRA. Gun owners are their own worst enemy. A membership costs about as much as a box of centerfire ammo. If even only 10% of gun owners were NRA members, I doubt that we would be having this conversation.

After years of being disgusted with the NRA, I choked back the vomit and wrote out that check to them in December.

I then wrote out another last month to the ILA.

One of the things that kinda irked me about them was the way they wouldn't get involved at the state level.
It seems this has changed somewhat so they'll get my support, for now.
Had they gotten involved in state matters before, maybe we wouldn't have Kane as our AG and maybe CO wouldn't have been flooded with libs getting elected.

THANK YOU 39flathead! This is what we need every gun owner to do right now!
If we keep playing around what has happened in New York and Colorado will happen at the Federal Level! If all gun owners gave just $30.00 that would be a nice war chest to counter the anti-gun hysteria across our country!
