Again, Whole Foods Market’s “No Firearms” policy is in place for safety reasons only; while individuals in the company may have personal opinions regarding the 2nd Amendment, Whole Foods Market does not take a political position on this issue, nor is our policy intended to infer a lack of support for the 2nd Amendment. Whole Foods Market’s policy is based on state law, which allows businesses to establish and enforce a “No Firearms” policy in our stores as part of state criminal trespass laws.
I tend to miss some things, so I'll go ahead and ask. How exactly is a company policy that is clearly agaisnt firearms on their property NOT taking a political stand? If you want to stay neutral, take the stance of "our stores follow state and federal policy regarding firearms."

Do you apply the same logic to 99.9% of gun shows as well since they do not allow loaded firearms?

I'm sort of in the same line of thinking, that if they don't bother to post a sign, it's not my responsibility to read their corporate policies/handbooks/visitor's guide/treasure map to know whether they prohibit firearms on their premises. It's their choice if they choose to prohibit them, and at the same time, my choice to deny them any of my compensation for products they sell. Generally speaking I avoid places with a liberal attitude towards firearms and it wouldn't surprise me if there were more places like this that just didn't thrust it in your face when you walk up to the entrance. For now, I'll stick to Wegman's for any "exotic" or organic food/ingredients that I'm in search of, or Giant if I'm not up to driving a few extra miles.

"Dear Carijane, please post NO GUNS ALLOWED signs so that the bad guys with guns will obey them and not come in and rob the store and or shoot people.

    Thank you."

They just don't get it, do they?

I do. I went to my last gun show here in York over 4 years ago, when I was allowed in with my loaded pistol. There was a sign prohibiting it but the guy at the door said it was only for trade-ins and such and he had no intention of disarming anyone. Sometime later that year I started seeing the more broad interpretation prohibiting all loaded weapons and I haven't been to a gun show since.

Where my carry is not welcome I do not go. I have been OC to every gun shop in the area and it is not problem, so I get what I need the other 362 days of the year.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

The funny thing about Whole Foods, is that while it caters to a real hippie clintele, the founder (Joe Mackey) is a very vocal libertarian, He has openly opposed ObamaCare, and has taken many other "controversial views" that have put him in conflict with his hippie dippy customer base.

This stance surprises me quite a bit.
