    Default LTCF

I was looking at the application for the Monroe County LTCF Application and I was wondering if anyone else has successfully gotten their LTCF if their references did not in fact also live in Monroe County.

All my friends and family live in carbon, northampton, lehigh, or luzerne counties. So I'm having an issue with the whole 2 references in Monroe County. I'm sure I could ask co-workers but I'd rather have personal friends/family.

I can't even put my boyfriend on it because we live together.

I don't get why it is so strict about where the references reside..

The references need to live in your county and not be related to you and no one can be used who lives at the same address as you. If your bf had another address in Monroe Cty, than you can use him.

My LTCF did not go so well I also had a person in Carbon and they said they could have the sheriff of Carbon sign a paper saying it was cool but recommended a person in Monroe county.

    Just my personal story...

Thanks everyone. That is what I assumed but wasn't sure if they were lax on that rule or not. I will just get 2 coworkers to agree to it when I go back to work.

I knew that my boyfriend and I couldn't be references for each other because we both live at the same address (which if we aren't legally married or in a common law I don't get) because he would be the best judge of character for me and vice versa. Being with someone for 13 years, I think I would know if he is capable of carrying.

The official LTCF application reads NOT FAMILY MEMBERS, which is open to a lot of different interpretations.

    Is a live-in boy/girl friend a family member?

No they are not, but it is clearly written that references can not reside at the same address

    Not on the official application

And the sheriff cannot, by statute, make up his own rules... although of course many do

I have the application saved to my computer and your right it doesn't say NOT family members but right on the website it says to follow all the directions.

I mean they won''t even accept the application if you don't print it double sided so I'd rather not deal with the hassle of getting denied once just because of the references.

It is just a bunch of useless hoops to jump through.

I work in healthcare and carry both a CNA and EMT certification with no disciplinary actions on my record plus I have undergone a federal background check. I am going to pass any investigation but if they say jump..I'll jump.

When I moved over from the peoples republic of NJ I used my neighbors in NJ as references, had no problems here in Wayne county. Next time around I'll use my neighbors here.

Yup, Wayne county does not require your references to be county residents. Also no need for next time around references, just a renewal fee.
