Ruger’s Updating the LCP
I've owned and carried a Ruger LCP for about two years now and couldn't be happier with it... Well, to be honest I wish it had larger; more "usable" sights and a "better" trigger. I've grown accustom to these two aspects; so much in fact that when I recently handled a 'new' LCP I was blown-away and traded-in my two year old for a brand new model."No, it's just a machine. Re: Ruger’s Updating the LCP
I's okay with the current sights. I have Laser on mine, plus it's an up close and personal gun.
However, I'm intrigued if the trigger can be updated to the new one if it's really good. I don't mind sending it to Ruger and getting it updated. Beats paying for a new one.

Re: Ruger’s Updating the LCP
hmm just picked up a used one and while i see the trigger pull is long for safety .. its REALLY long.. and when you think you hit the end.... its got a bit more to go.
The sights i can go either way on, since the pull / blowback / weight makes it less then an ideal target gun. its not really intended for distance shots

Re: Ruger’s Updating the LCP
I have the laser on mine as well so going out and replacing the whole firearm for new sights and trigger is a bit much. I to will have to look into getting the trigger upgraded.

Re: Ruger’s Updating the LCP
Have had mine for a couple years now and have had no problems. This is not a range gun. This is a "pull out of your shorts pocket and shoot someone 5 yards from you because he's about to harm you" gun. With that said, under these conditions, you will not notice the long trigger pull or lack of sites.
I'll have to look into the new trigger mechanism, it very well may be worth money to upgrade if possible.
Cheers

Re: Ruger’s Updating the LCP
So did they copy another Kel-tec?
I found both triggers to be terrible to me so the triggers are on a scale to me.. The Glock was a crisper suck and the XD was a more mushy suck. They are in the same family, SR9 (heavy suck), Glock (crisp heavy suck), XD( lighter mushy suck), M&P(heavy mushy suck).

Re: Ruger’s Updating the LCP
Don't see the need for the changing the sights on this type of gun. But if they want to improve the gun cut some dovetails in the slide and make the sights replaceable. The trigger is long and heavy but it something I don't have a problem with and it does not affect accuracy for me. Mine breaks right before the trigger contacts the frame which I like. If these two things are so important to people I would suggest not buying an LCP. It is not meant to be a range gun.
