I suggest at least one giant sign making it clear that you are peacefully protesting to avoid PPD and perhaps even the feds coming down on you. After the Boston Marathon bombing you can expect Police to be on high terrorism alert. I am sure someone can up with something witty.

Find out if this is doable, and legal.
Estimate a number of people needed.
Recruit people, and confirm with people with a dated post.
Agree on time, and location (keep angle of sun in mind)
Finally lets do this, and git-er-done.

Move On targeted some of the representatives in our state that are not anti-gun and protested in front of their office(s).

The NJ2AS immediately organized a counter-protest at each of these events.

Durring the Republican National Convention that was held in Philly a decade ago, I was rollerblading by Reading terminal market, and got clothslined by a cop... they were told to look out for people with two-way radios, and I had a wired headset to my cell phone.

After explaining to the 7 oofficers that showed up that a cell phone WAS a 2 way radio, and their instructions were highly flawed, they let me on my way with a warning.

I am not afraid of cops, i am afraid of stupid people, whether they are cops or not.

Haha! I was there too. A fresh journalism grad armed with a camera. They were pretty rough; Timmony regulated from the front of the pack.

But, whereas I understand your point and what you wish to communicate with this photo BUT think of how "they" will twist it. I am sure the gun control folks will spin it as we look posed to invade New Jersey.
