Re: trying to find
The last two hard to find guns I got (EAA Witness, P226) was through the FL gun directory. I just started calling every day till I found one and bought it right then. I even called dealers out of state. Both of the one's I found were customer cancellations, so I got lucky on both. Maybe try the directory for gun shops in PA. FWIW, be prepared to pay top $$$ for that gun.
Edit: I deleted the post that has one on Gun Broker. Last bid was $889 with no reserve and it appears it is going to be relisted. Hope you got deep pockets if you find one.Last edited by harold63; March 12th, 2013 at 09:08 PM.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Re: trying to find
thanks for the info.
when the shops finally get any in and my name comes up i will buy it as long as they are not gouging the price, otherwise it sits on their counter and i go home. this guy is not paying near or over retail, i will leave it sit. it very well can be worth more but i'm not going to be gouged for it.
still going to keep looking, waiting, and calling around. hopefully one of the small guys will get one in so i can support them. i still see current sales under $700, when in stock-that's the key . hoffman's is/was $689 in stock today.
thanks again.

Re: trying to find
I told my wife, and myself, that I was not paying over $700 for it.
I would rather buy from a local shop but I wouldn't hesitate if I found one a bit cheaper on the net. just a personal preference, trying to get my best or acceptable price, and I'm not in a rush or need to have one. I just really w a n t one.
I would give a local guy $690. I'd give Hoffman's $690 but then I have to pay $30 to ship.
I can handle spending cuts even if BIG government can't.

Re: trying to find
Hoffman's wont ship their SR1911's right now. I called them two weeks ago and I was told they wont ship them. I found one at my local Gander Mountain the same day I called Hoffmans. I paid more for it at Gander Mountain than the Hoffman's price but it was the only one I could find. I could have driven to Hoffmans and bought it but the cost of fuel would have put it over the Gander Mountain price. If you find one for under $700 you better buy it on the spot because it wont last long.

Re: trying to find
I have been on a waitlist for one for about 2 months now. I know someone who waited about a year before he got the call that one had come in.
I am in no hurry for the SR1911 my other "want" came in 2 weeks later, I picked it up and there is just no room in the budget right now.

Re: trying to find
Try Ed's in Tamaqua. Was in there last night he just got some ruger SR's in. The ones I saw were 40's and 9's didn't really look hard. Not too far for you, about 45 minute drive right down 81. Call first, 570-668-1080, open til 7pm tonight.
