    Default S&W 1903

Been finding some nice S&W revolvers lately. Got this one delivered to the house today - anyone have any details/info? I was told it was a 2nd variation, first year. It's a 32 long cartridge. Serial number 51xxx. Really nice piece to add to the wheel gun collection Came with a slide in holster that was supposedly with it since birth possibly?

The .32 Hand Ejector Model of 1903 was produced from 1906 to 1909. It's built on the round butt I frame with 5 screws. Barrel leghths were 3.25,4.25, and 6 inch. Serial numbers range from 51127 up to 95500. This would put your gun at the earlier range. Most likely 1906.

Congratulations on a fine looking revolver.

Thanks. That matches up to what the seller told me. Said it was first run of second variation, produced in 1906. It has the 4.25" barrel. Has a little wear/character marks, but minor considering it's age. I used a little of my favorite oxpho blue and it did a nice job touching up some of the spots where blue was faded a bit. Came with a nice old leather slip in holster that I was told has been with it since the beginning or close to! I thought the grips might have been replacements seeing they were in such good shape, but when I took them off, they had the guns serial number stamped in them!

Be sure to give us a range repot when you shoot it!
