22/45 barrel replacements?
Im looking for an aftermarket barrel for a 22/45 target.
Id like the barrel to stay around the 5.5-6 in lenght but also be threaded to take a suppressor.

Re: 22/45 barrel replacements?
The 22/45 barrel IS the registered part of the firearm and would need to be purchased through a FFL. I have heard nothing but good things about "Pac-Lite" barrels. Below is a site with more info. Since ruger came out with the 22/45 light model, I'm not sure the cost difference between both options. Maybe you can have a machinist thread your existing barrel?

You can also check out Volquartsen's offerings.https://www.volquartsen.com/tags/5-b...-mkiii-pistols
They are pricy but one of the 2 allows a caliber change to 17mach2. As above the barrels and receivers can not be taken apart due to a proprietary process that Ruger uses to attach them. So any replacement barrel will require a transfer at a FFL. There are other companies out there that make mods for your 22/45. You should check out www.rimfirecentral.com, as their name suggests they have forums dedicated to all things rimfire including dedicated to the Ruger Mark series.

Re: 22/45 barrel replacements?
Thanks for the advice guys. Im not in the US though, so no worries about barrel transfers.
And yes. Pac Lite was already at the top of my list. So Im glad somebody else recommended them.
So apart from Paclite and Volqartesn are there any other barrel makers Im missing?

Re: 22/45 barrel replacements?
Actually the tube the barrel is threaded into is the serial numbered parts of the firearm. There are places that remove and replace the barrel from the receiver. Clark Custom is one place that does this www.clarkcustomguns.com Not sure if they handle Euro orders though......
