After listening to 2 or 3 of these alarmists, stand up and ask the following questions, which should give you ample opportunity to refute anything emotion laden coming out of their collective mouths. I'll start you out with a few, and then give you some that you can ask when they predictably bring certain things up:

* What is your specific concern about firearms in the park?

* When was the last time a deranged person came into a Lower Makefield Township park and shot at people? Do you think such a person would abide by an ordnance to not carry a gun?

* If no police is there at the time of such an incident, wouldn't you rather have a responsible adult like me available to respond to such an emergency than no-one at all?

* Are you aware that to be allowed to legally carry a gun in Pennsylvania you have to go through a check which determines your criminal background, mental stability, and personal character?

* Are you really invested in the actual safety of children, or are you more interested in squaring away your own irrational fear of an inanimate object?

* Do you really think that a person who carries a gun will be so careless as to let a child or stranger have the opportunity, even for a moment, to compromise him enough to grab his gun?

I'm sure you can come up with more yourself. Go, but be prepared for the idiocy and have a question to answer every question unless someone asks a legitimate question which you can easily refute with a factually correct answer.

So they're outraged because their elected officials are following the law and staying within their powers. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

I also found it ironic that they applaud the Islamic guy who says he's not a terrorist, but are afraid gun owners are going to mow down their children in parks.

I have lived in Newtown Twp. or Northampton Twp. my entire life and I am sick of all of the damn NJ NY transplants invading the area. Un-freaking real!
