15 day wait? update 3/27
I ordered a new handgun online last week. I went to my local ffl to pick it up today. Background check took over an hour and then was told I had a 15 day wait. What are the possible reasons for this? I bought a new gun in nov, bought another in jan and got my LTCF two weeks ago with no problems. Wasn't sure what section to post this in. Thanks
update:
bogus warrant in ny is the reason for my gun purchase denial. It's for a failure to appear for something I appeared at. I have the paperwork to prove it but PSP said thats not enough. I have a lawyer getting it straightened out. Worst part is the state trooper said she's having my ltcf revoked. Won't even give me time to prove its a mistake on NY's part. Just got the ltcf in late feb. How hard will it be to get it back? Can I reapply as soon as everything is straightened out?Last edited by Takem; March 27th, 2013 at 03:15 PM.

Re: 15 day wait?
It can happen for any number of reasons. I wouldn't worry about it until you get a letter of denial. I've actually heard a lot of people are getting delayed recently.

Re: 15 day wait?
Either you were put into research or the system was overloaded. 15 days is what PA allocates as a time frame for the PSP to review, then deny or approve.
If you were put in research it could be for many reasons - of which may not be due to YOU specifically.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

Re: 15 day wait?
ok thanks. I can't see any reason to deny. I was told they may be very busy because of a gun show today and I was waiting over an hour. Really annoying regardless. I was hoping to break my gun in today. Even picked out a nice IWB holster while waiting.

Re: 15 day wait?
Day two. This is going to be a long 15 days. Is it 15 days or 15 business days?

2.3 million background checks for the month of Feb. according to the FBI. GOOD REASON?

Re: 15 day wait?
Not good enough. They kept me standing there over an hour just to find out I have to wait. Guy walked out with a pistol right before me. I'd mind less if I hadn't already paid for the gun.

I was delayed once, if you put "jr,iii ect" on one form but not the other you will be delayed. It only took mine a few days
