AWB in exchange for National Reciprocity

I wouldn't mind giving up assault rifles, having magazine limits and universal background checks in exchange for national reciprocity. Federal law in place giving a defense against local restrictions (ie. different permit for NYC then NY state) thereby making laws uniform and regulated at only the state level.

A carry license could be regulated similar to a driver's license where it's valid in all states and there is a system in place to verify, suspend and so forth. If you get a disability it could be automatically revoked. And of course there would be a national minimum standard set to get one before it's in place for the reciprocity.

I don't think we should regulated a right but it's a fair compromise to get it! I would love for some deal to be worked out.

That's the problem when it comes to guns: each side refuse to compromise. A right is a right but the democrats aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Something is better than nothing. There would be pluses on both sides for this.
