I Might Have Overdone It...

But, it was so much fun!

After months of not being able to get to the range because of my injury, then surgery, then rehab, I finally got to have several hours of range time this morning.

I got to shoot the Garand I bought months ago for the first time. It was a blast and at 100 yards it was putting most rounds within six inches. The ones outside of six were not the rifle's fault. Six clips later and my shoulder was starting to feel it so I put her away.

In-between the Garand clips, I worked on my skills with my S&W M&P Shield 9mm with both defensive and target rounds, my Kahr P9 to try a heavy duty spring I just installed, and my LCP with Buffalo Bore +P that I wanted to get familiar with.

After all of that, I finished the morning with a few magazines of .223 and my Stag AR.

Right now, I am sitting in a recliner using my iPad while icing my titanium hip and occasionally my right hand. I'm drinking some Maker's Mark and smiling because not only is it after 5PM somewhere, it has been a day worth celebrating.

What range do you go to? I've been looking for a long-range rifle range for a long time but all the ones I have found are too far away for easy access.

FWIW, I've started believing every day is a Saturday.

Make the best of it and make the most of it.

About the only thing I can think of that would have made this a better day is that you could have organized an after-shooting event where folks of your ilk show up with their favorite ramrods and lubricating solutions to relax, talk story, and revel in that Hoppe's #9 after-glow.

But I can see you're already there!

I have to be honest with everyone... I do not like Maker's Mark. Sorry, just never been much of a bourbon drinker.

To each his own. I'm a fan of any type of whiskey and of course the best kind of whisky, the one without the "e"; Scotch!
