Shotgun Adapters, Pros/Cons
I'm interested in some 20 gauge shotgun adapters for my NEF 20ga single shot shotgun.
Thinking of purchasing from here, http://shotgunadapter.com/
And getting the adapters in .45ACP & .22LR as those are the calibers I have in stock.
Anyone have these adapters and use them? What's your thoughts on them? I realize they won't be good for distance but short range is all that is needed. It would be used as a just in case type feature.
I'm also considering ones from, http://www.gunadapters.com/categorie...ters/20-gauge/
In .22LR or even .410/.45Colt.
Pros/Cons of the adapter?

Re: Shotgun Adapters, Pros/Cons
I have a number of adapters for both my 12s and 20s.
The most accurate one is this six inch barreled item from McAce. 12 gauge to .45 ACP.
Also have shell length adapters 12/.44, 12/.38, 20/9mm, 45 Colt/.22LR
I have a couple of the old Savage fourtenners for my 12s as well as chamber adapters that take my 12s to 20s and my 20s to 28s.
The shotshell adapters work surprisingly well.
The cf adapters for shotguns require a lot of practice.

Re: Shotgun Adapters, Pros/Cons
Are the adapters actually rifled? If not isn't it just lobbing a bullet out of a tube?

Re: Shotgun Adapters, Pros/Cons
The adapters are rifled.
At least, all of the shotshell to pistol cartridge adapters that I own are rifled. I have not purchased from any of the companies linked in this thread.
The one pictured above came from McAce. http://www.mcace.com/shotguninserts.htm
This offers the most complete line of any that I have seen and, also, a variety of barrel lengths for the adapters.
Take your single barrel shotgun and put an 18" .30-30 or .45-70 adapter in it and you have a very interesting combo.
