Default Over The Shoulder Harness - Revolver

    Hi all,

I hope this is the right place to post this....

I am looking for an over the shoulder harness type holster for my S&W 686 .357 with a 6 inch barrel (one I actually bought of the ads here, beautiful gun). Purpose for over the shoulder is for when I am turkey hunting and fishing in bear country. It would be under my outer layer jacket, so I could unzipped my jacket and reach for it with my right hand. I've thought about a belt holster, however from a sitting position it would be more difficult for me to drop my shotgun and reach off my right side. Plus the added bulk of my turkey vest would not help. Storing it in my turkey vest is also not an option, with no safety I'd hate for it to swing out and go boom. I think it is the most practical platform, open to any other suggestions though, I'm not a CC or tactical guru.

What I am looking for is something in the $50 to $75 range. Leather would be nice, but not necessary. Curious if a synthetic fabric would be more prone to scratching my gun though. This is not my CC gun so I would not be doing a lot of practice with drawing from the holster, but enough to be proficient....again shes a beauty, not a safe queen either, but in excellent condition. The goal is to fit the above objective.

Also not my purpose to debate that black bears aren't that notable for attacks in PA, I just want to be safe a few miles from camp, often times alone.

So what should I be looking at? Is my budget too low for a decent holster? Are my expectations realistic?

Thanks for your help!!...and sorry for boasting my revolver

    Paul

That's what I was going to suggest until I saw the $50.00 to $75.00 price. It is a nice and comfortable holster.

Uncle Mikes has a condura (SP) for less and it is less of a holster.

Thanks for the advice...looks like a nice holster.

Craigslist is hit or miss....Ive sold things right away with no price gouging and Ive had people lie to me about prices.

heh. my rep thunder returns in about an hour. hooker jokes get you a +1.

I actually located the socalled, anonymous guy just to show him i could. but nuttin worth doing. bottom line my own lazieness and eagerness to make a too good to be true cheapo deal. it was a 50 dollar laptop. turned out having a faulty charger port. well a trip to the comp repair guy later and a 100dollar estimate Im now stuck with a piece of junk that holds an hour charge at best and takes a bunch of time wiggling and posititioning charger plug just to get increment charges. ooh well ya live and u learn.
