Remington 597 30 rd mag suggestions

Hole im in the right spot. Recently bought 5 30 rd remington 597 mags and out of the four I checked so far 2 have had the same issue. The part where bullet sits gets stuck a few inches down the length of the magazine. This causes subsequent rounds to wiggle around in the space between. It def won't feed like this. I have to slam the mag against something to unstick and get the part to come back up. I tried to sand the plastic parts that guides it up to no avail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Should I just send it back?

Usually a sticky follower is due to poor lubrication. I would not have sanded anything as that usually leaves a rougher ( hence more friction ) surface that sticks more. I would recommend going over the surfaces you sanded with ultrafine steel wool or a polishing compound to make them glassy smooth, and then use a silicone base or other water repelling lubricant such as white lithium grease ( I'm assuming they're all plastic except for the spring and feed lips ). Hopefully, this will solve your magazine problem.

Yea after I sanded the one I realized that probably wasn't a good idea bc of the friction. I checked the last of the 5 I bought. 3 were bad!!! That's not even 50% success rate. The whole magazine is plastic besides the spring. I've included a picture. It's crazy remington would put out these POS. I'll try your suggestion, thanks for responding
