Anyone reload military match brass?
My neighbor came across some that he gave to me. Holy crap is that stuff a pain. Pardon the pun, but it was hard and thick. Got 2 cases stuck in the sizing die and ended up ripping the rim off trying to get it out of my press. Nothing a lot of extra lube inside and out couldn't fix, just wasn't expecting it.

Had to read this twice, "pain", "hard and thick", "extra lube", and "Got 2 stuck in". Yeah, this is x-rated. Now going to enjoy a cigarette.

Make sure they are clean first. They shouldn't get stuck in the die though as long as they're lubed. I just started reloading small rifle. Its actually kind of fun compared to the stuff i normally relaod.
Also, Too much lube is a bad thing.

Re: Anyone reload military match brass?
Not to offend you but with all the newbies reloading I gotta ask. They're not steel cases are they? Reloaded allot of mil brass and even when using small base dies its not much of a problem.
It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.

Re: Anyone reload military match brass?
I have quite a bit....never noticed much of a difference reloading match brass than say any of the other mil-spec stuff. Military brass on the whole has thicker webbing and case walls, maybe a slight bit stiffer full length resizing than commercial but not much.
I do have to ask though, what case lube are you using?
When doing rifle cases I gave up on the spray and prays like "one shot" or the others...I now only use Imperial sizing wax and Unique case lube, resizing force is like doing pistol cases and I haven't had a stuck case in years."Disperse you Rebels! Re: Anyone reload military match brass?
Yes I am fairly new to it, but it was brass thanks for asking
Ive done other military .308 and it wasnt much different than anything else. It was just these 20 I had a problem with. Im using Unique lube and then a little brush with some lube on it to do inside the case.
The really funny thing about the brass that got stuck is on the down (er up?) stroke it went perfectly fine. But getting them out wasnt so good, I wish I would have taken pics. It threw my neighbor for a loop as well, and he has been reloading forever.
