I lived through 89-94 just fine. Never ran out of bullets or even bayonet equipped mag fed semis... and then it was over. This too shall pass.

So did I. The difference being I had to work my ass off making sure people got out to vote by calling and visiting them using my money and donating my time. I had to help research all the Representatives phone numbers and get post cards and get people to call and write their Congress people. There was no functional internet back then. My Gun Club and I donated thousands of dollars to the ALL the gun lobbying groups so we could keep our firearms. If that Congress that passed the original AWB had remained in place you would be remembering all the guns you used to have or were free to buy.

This time it is worse. Obama knows the public is even less educated then it was back then, the press is now more powerful and speak with one voice. There are even more deep pockets like billionaire Nanny Bloomers and others willing to contribute their time and their money in taking your rights away from you and me. Hell, that socialist wants to take his soda ban nationwide.

To say that this will all blow over is to stick your head in the sand. The PA State Police now keeps a registration (illegally) of all the firearms you have purchased. The universal background check will lead to the same type of semantics they play with the words. Is it registration or just a list of purchased firearms? If you get pulled over and have to hand over your gun and your gun isn't registered to you, it's gone. One fellow here had to put $3500 in legal fees to get his gun back after a so called "not a registration list" check.

Now when they do a background check when you purchase that firearm they say they have to dump the list after a certain time period. Right now they may or may not be doing that, with a new universal check when they update the software. I guarantee they will be installing new tracking software and a more complete database. Why do you think Chuckie Schumer is so anxious to get this Universal Check passed? The Government doesn't obey the laws now but they don't dare change anything in mid stream for fear of being caught with what they are already doing and this new opportunity of updating will give them free access from prying eyes to further update that software and database.

First there will be a mandatory buy back. Then a mandatory turn in. Then if they don't find all the guns you own from the list of purchases you have made when they used the Universal background check they will be sending out the fellows wearing masks and trained to kill to throw you face down in front of your family and tear your house to pieces looking for those guns and then drag you off to jail. This is what you can expect with a Universal background check, not today, not tomorrow but 10 years down the road. That's how it works. It's well documented and the blueprint was written by the Red Russians just after the Bolshevik Revolution when they created a licensing scheme to find the guns and then starve the people of the Ukraine and take all their land.

Oh, that could never happen here eh? The 1994 AWB was the shot across the bow for ranging. This time it's full broadsides with all ports open starting with canister to take down the rigging and men at the guns. The full brunt of 18 pounders come next. If we do not act now to stop this we will be the flaming useless hulk on fire striking our colors.

^ What he said. It’s happened elsewhere. It can happen here. I am not sure of these figures so I could be wrong but firearm ownership is only 20% of the American populous. Even adding additional numbers for pro-gun people that is one hell of a lop sided fight. It takes everyone in this day and age. Quite honestly with the internet making your voice heard and finding the right info is very easy.

I am way down on the Mason Dixen Line so I can't go to this or you can bet if it was local I would be there, even if I was the only one.
