    No problem.

I'm sure there are other ways to achieve the same thing. Once I had the concept bouncing around in my head though, all it took was to stumble upon that locker shelf and it all fell in place.

I had NICE, clear photos of a few holsters clipped onto the grid prior to mounting it, but they somehow got deleted. They showed them being suspended partly upside down with no excessive movement.

For anyone not familiar with the Gunmate IWB holsters, here's what the clip looks like.

As I mentioned, any holster with a clip will work, so long as it fits through one of the grid "holes".

I see this place sells the locker shelves with choice of color for just under $9.
    Not sure what shipping is.

Also, I'm sure there are other alternatives. Maybe some sort of wire shelving materials would work?

Nice job EM. Thanks for the pictures and descriptions.

I've been thinking about doing something in my own safe for the handguns, getting too crowded.

Different safe but the concept should work the same, with adaptations as needed.

    Great thread Emptymag!

I have the same cabinet and have been trying to figure out how to store pistols on the door. I came close a couple of times to buying those stackon wire racks that are overpriced.

I'm going to try your method. Thanks again.

Yep, this type of thing can likely be done with just about any safe/cabinet.
Most safes would probably be even easier because they have more room to work with on the door.

Thanks. Hope it gives you an idea you can work with.

I'm probably going to whip up some magazine holders as well.
I can either attach them to the grid, or to the holsters. The nylon holsters have the loop on both sides so the belt clip can be used on either side. I could probably rig something that could loop through the one on the outside.

I hung a .223 USGI mag and a .22LR upper on the door...

For the upper, I used a spare peg board hook and two small S hooks.
The peg board hook goes through the rear assembly pin hole.

For the magazine, I just bent a jumbo paper clip and hooked one end over the grid. LOL

    Not bad for under $25.

And don't try stealing my paper clip idea - I'm getting that patented!

By the way, Gander Mountain sells these things...

    Lockdown brand universal handgun holder.

They're ten bucks and come with both magnets and "vampire" pins for carpeted doors.

I wound up ordering something you recommended in another thread a few weeks ago to help with storage. This seems like a good place to add info, hope you don't mind me putting this in your thread.

Took a bit of work but wound up fitting my needs. The holsters hold guns and attach them to the carpeting inside the safe door. I have a 12 gun safe. The carpeting on the door was not attached very well and the weight of the guns was causing the carpeting to sag and pull loose. After taking the panel off the door, gently pulling the carpeting off, and using some spray adhesive before putting the carpeting back, it worked great. The other thing is with smaller safes like mine, the gap between the doors and the shelves might not be a wide as the gap on larger safes. I had to position the guns just right so that the door could shut without connecting with the shelves.

You might want to check this out:

    http://www.amazon.com/LockDown-Gun-V...ef=pd_sim_sg_1

$12 for the small and $19 for the large. 3 pockets for pistols and 3 for magazines/accessories.
Sanity, yours if you can keep it.....

Yeah, they carry that at Gander Mtn too.
It's way too wide for my door though, but it may be helpful to someone else.

Speaking of items carried at Gander - that whole line of safe accessories included a battery operated "tap light" with an auto-on sensor for $19.99.
The same exact light at Wmart (not marketed as a safe light, but it's the same unit) costs $6.99. And they offer it as a 3-pack too which is likely even less expensive when purchased that way. (I didn't see a price on the shelf)
