1911 Slide Slide Stop, How to.....
I've seen a bunch of 1911's for sale. Way to many of them have the tell tale "mark" on the frame from re-installing the Slide Stop. What is the best way to do this without scratching the frame. I've been lucky so far with mine, but what works best?

Re: 1911 Slide Slide Stop, How to.....
When I install the slide stop, I dont let it touch the frame. I Let it kind of hover above just a little and than push up and than in....Not sure If I am doing it right but I have never scratched mine.. Scratches make me angry

Re: 1911 Slide Slide Stop, How to.....
I hope this might help. Was browsing earlier this afternoon some articles I
have in one of my instructor manuals after cleaning a 1911 Ithaca 45 acp.
Went to the following:
www.les@custompistols.com
Les has a few interesting articles, if they are not what you are looking for,
they contain great information overall. Check out the article on "limp
wristing" as well and the 45 acp as a defensive weapon.FUNDAMENTALS
