Whats the best way to maximize the space in your safe?It seems to me a 24 gun safe really means 12 gun safe. Can anyone suggest a door organizer?I found a few online but would like to hear some suggestions.thanks

I just created and installed a door organizer the other day and took pics.
I'll try and upload them tonight.

In the mean time, if you don't feel like a DIY project, these are pretty inexpensive...

Can't beat five for $30 with free shipping. (I looked around - I was going to go this route initially)

Are you looking for additional gun storage or misc. storage? When I had a smaller safe I used some nuts and bolts, vinyl tubing, and rubber washers and was able to hang 8 handguns on the inside of my door... A lot cheaper than a door organizer.

I have this safe. Mine is set up like this:

    Long guns on the left
5 equal sized shelves on the right
    - pistols lined in a row on top
    - ammo, mags, knives, assorted accessories on the next 3
    - personal stuff on the bottom (jewelry, ect..)

Holsters, empty gun boxes, manuals, empty firearm related packaging on a shelf next to the safe. Along with my fishing gear.

I also keep a small lock box upstaires on my dresser for my HD/duty gun and cash.

I need a door organizer. Bad.

I'm trying to squeeze too much ammo in the safe. Putting those 5-6 handguns on the door will free up lots of space.

Do you have a pistol rack? I found a guy who makes great racks at a reasonable price, and he even customized it for me at no extra cost. manaboutracks.com It really helps to get the most out of your space.

Damn, I wish those were my safes.

I was able to fit 6 pistols on the middle shelf of my (alleged) 24-gun safe, with storage underneath for mags, flashlights & knives, etc.

I'll do a separate thread explaining how I did this, but here's what I put together to store handguns on the door.
(14 gun locking cabinet - with nowhere near 14 guns inside LOL)

I already had three of the nylon IWB holsters and the leather one lying around doing nothing.
All I needed to buy was two holsters and the wire framework (clearanced locker shelves) so the whole thing cost less than $25.

Hammer is back, but there appears to be no mag in there.
