Re: trapping
Everything is always owned by someone. Is it posted?
You may go to your township building and inquire there. I would assume you could always be prosecuted for trespassing. Play it safe and do your homework.
Edit: I see you live in Norristown... that's a more dense area. I'd definitely find out the owner before you set out traps.Last edited by CL3; February 25th, 2013 at 01:15 PM. Reason: location comment

Re: trapping
Go to the PA game commissions web page for trapping rules and regulations. You'll find you need a fur takers lic, Trapping season is over and tree rats aren't on the list as fur bearers.

Re: trapping
If your talking about live trapping, There a special regs on that. Leg hold or body trapping has seasons and requires a fur takers lic. I have No idea on what is legal on your own property for live trapping problem animals. Call the game commission. Not all aminals can be trapped. Chipmunks are protected as an example. I also dont think you can trap/ catch any animal in Pa and then drown it later.

Re: trapping
I would strongly suggest you leave the squirrels alone, Squirrels are listed as small game animals, with a hunting season. All game and fur animals in Pa are not owned by the property owner, but are the property of the Common wealth of Pa, and under the protection of the Pa, Game commission.

Re: trapping
You need to take a Hunter / Trapper Education course. Maybe you can pull one of the teachers aside and ask more specifics like this. There are rules & regs to follow. You wouldn't go out and shoot a deer whenever you like, right? Same deal here.
