Ruger Mark 2 Barrel shift
I have a Mark two a long time many rounds. I have noticed the barrel has clockwise and counter clockwise movement when completely assembled. It is not sloppy but if you hold the scope you can move the hole barrel assembly. Any info would be helpful.
Thanks All

Re: Ruger Mark 2 Barrel shift
If you can rotate the barrel along the axis of the bore when the mainspring housing and pin are in, something is very wrong.
My own mk.II barrel disassembles and reassembles easily....I have to hold on to it during the latter part of reassembly .....but, once the mainspring is installed, the gun is tight.
Yes, do call Ruger.

Re: Ruger Mark 2 Barrel shift
I had a Mark II that also developed a little play between the upper receiver and lower. I called them and they said to send it back, they fixed it for free.
When you say the barrel rotates do you mean the barrel AND the receiver, rotating on the lower frame.....or just the barrel

Re: Ruger Mark 2 Barrel shift
Sounds like the receiver top end is loose to the frame, not the barrel to the upper receiver tube.
So Delkal what did Ruger do to fix this? Did they replace the lower frame or refit it somehow?? fit

Re: Ruger Mark 2 Barrel shift
They replaced the whole lower grip frame, not sure about the internals. Since a Mark II is one of the few firearms where the upper is serial numbered it was not an issue.
I didn't have to give proof of purchase info or anything else. Just called first, sent it in and they mailed it back.
