    One of the things you might want to do is also take the bolt apart when cleaning for the first time. It will also have cosmoline in it and not cleaning it out can make the using the bolt more difficult than it should be. Here is a video showing you how to take the bolt apart.

    Thanks for the video's, I do have some concerns taking apart the bolt. The process to remove and re-install that firing pin seems to require that tool. Can I complete the process without it?

    I read somewhere and I dont know where that Vinegar lifts cosmoline. I don't know for sure.

    Check this out:
    I would imagine since there are so many different options and the way attack cosmoline...

    pick one you feel comfortable with and go for it...

    Ive done it numerous times and my way is going to be different from the next guys.....just saying there is a ton of information out there already and im guessing 1 or 2 on this forum already

    Snip of their bolt disassembly, you don't need the tool, you can just use other parts of the bolt!

    Rotate the bolt head 90 degrees clockwise and pull it off the connector bar. Using the large notch on the bolt tool or the connector bar as a wrench, grasp the firing pin between the fingers and unscrew it counterclockwise. Be careful to grasp it firmly as the spring is under pressure.

    The problem is I need to find a method that won't take a few weeks or will damage my stock in the process, most methods seem to involve one or the other. I will start breaking down my rifle now, get the metal bits squared away and try the hair drier method first.
