They are pretty expensive for a sight. Looks like they would be good for quick target acquisition, but accuracy might hurt. I have a set of meprolights that I like, and a buddy of mine got a set of tru-glo tfo's installed that are super bright.

Personally, I like big dot sights. Ugly as all hell, but very quick to acquire.

Seems like the big dots misght be quicker for SD, but the speed sights might be better for target accuracy while not giving up much in SD.

Big dot sights are specifically designed for defense/combat. They are designed with one thing in mind: Fast, east target aquistition to make your task a little easier under presser. No, big dot sights will generally not be quite as accurate as speed sight or other conventional style sights. This is part of the design. The are supposed to be just accurate enough to easily land shots on COM, and this slightly reduced accuracy is what makes acquiring your target so easy. It is a result of the oversized sight. The wide "V" contributes to this as well. Instead of trying to find a front post between two rear ones, you are simply lowering the big front dot to rest in the the V.

I really want to install a set on my 1911, but then finding a kydex holster it will fit will be a huge pain in the ass.

not a fan of these speed sights, nor do I like night sights too much. Ive grown pretty used to the factory style 3 dot sights and do pretty well for punching paper. 160 is very high for sights.

Have you used them at night...in defensive dark situations? Serious question.

I wonder why they show the front diamond in green but say it comes in orange. I don't personally like the big dots because of the gap between the tritium and the white for that matter. Too much margin for error in the dark. Also the point of impact in the picture shows the hit at the pumpkin on post position. I wonder if these have been calibrated for such hits or if you have to cover the POI with the dot like you do factory Glock sights.

...I don't get it. I mean, clearly, they think I'm supposed to think the sights in the middle are universally/objectively better, but...

well the colored symbols are larger in the middle picture, but I too am not impressed at first glance.
